Becoming Trauma Informed Awareness Training

Overview

This one-day online course is designed to support staff in organisations to develop an understanding of the dynamics and process of trauma, inform practice and support system change.

Course Objectives

  • To understand the pervasiveness of violence and the impact it has upon people.

  • To know the definitions of trauma, and what being ‘trauma-informed’ means.

  • To understand how knowledge about trauma can make your work easier and safer.

  • To learn about self-care for you and those you work with.

Evidence base

One Small Thing curricula and work is rooted in over 30 years of research, development and expertise of pioneering and leading US expert in evidence-based trauma-informed practice, Dr. Stephanie Covington. UK research conducted in partnership with the University of Portsmouth, demonstrates the impact trauma-informed work can have.

Who is this training day for?

If you are interested to find out how trauma impacts upon people and how you can start to work in a way that takes this into account, this course would be useful for you.

Cost

£190 plus VAT per person.

We currently offer one discounted ticket for organisations with an income under £350,000. Discounted tickets: £114 plus VAT per person.
