Trauma Informed Team Leadership Programme

Overview

Our brand new Trauma Informed Team Leadership Programme provides an opportunity for senior leaders to explore trauma informed team leadership. The programme consists of an in-person training day in Oxford (06 Dec 2023) followed by six online Action Learning Sets (Jan - Jun 2024), providing a unique opportunity to collaborate with peers to solve challenges faced when leading a team.

Programme details

Through one in-person learning day and six action learning sets (one per month), this programme explores:

  • the application of trauma informed values to workplace issues and team leadership

  • how staff (including ourselves) are vulnerable to the impact of trauma and to recognise the  indicators

  • how to adjust what we do within our roles, to take account of trauma and leading in ways that support recovery and promote participation of our teams

  • the complexity that exists when working with others and thinking about how a trauma informed approach helps us navigate complexity

How can this programme support you to develop your leadership skills?

  •  Leading teams is a complex task, and leading in a way that is trauma informed needs thought, reflection, skill and support. This programme will provide you with the foundations and processes to implement trauma informed leadership.

  • Leading teams can also trigger our own trauma responses. This programme will support you to build self awareness of your own triggers and how you can respond in a trauma informed way.

  • Finding the balance between the needs of the organisation and the needs of the people you manage needs to be navigated. This programme will support you to find this balance.

  • Having an opportunity to navigate with others can support you to be an even better leader. This programme provides the space for reflection with others in similar roles to yourself, helping you to find solutions together.
