Meet our Trainers

Eva Roussou

Eva is a Consultant in Trauma-Informed Practice, providing clinical supervision, training and organisational consultancy in the criminal justice, forensic mental health, social care, homelessness and the women’s sectors. She has designed and delivered training to professionals in the U.K. and abroad in a range of trauma-related subjects since 2007. A Clinical & Counselling Psychologist and Systemic Psychotherapist, Eva draws on over 20 years of clinical experience working in the charity, statutory and private sectors.


CLare Jones

With background in social work, Clare has been in senior management and leadership roles within the women’s sector for 25 years. She has experience of operational and strategic management in different areas including domestic abuse, diversion and rehabilitation in respect of criminal justice and mental health. She has held a range of leadership roles related to person centred systems change across the public and voluntary sectors, including national initiative developments and publications. In 2012 Clare was awarded a CBE for local national work to improve life outcomes for vulnerable women.


SALLY POSKETT

Sally is a freelance trainer delivering the Becoming Trauma Informed programme for community-based services and organisations. Sally’s working life started in a 97-bed hostel for the homeless before training as a Probation Officer. She worked in both prison and community settings before leaving the service to focus on developing learning and development content and services aimed at supporting the workforce to become attachment and trauma aware.


Frances Maclennan

Frances is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist working for the NHS and has worked within the criminal justice system for more than 15 years.  She works in prisons and within secure units and is a specialist member of the parole board.  She has set up psychological programmes in prisons and has a particular interest in trauma within individuals and also within complex organisations. She has published a range of papers and continues to teach at universities.  She has worked for One Small Thing for more than five years. 


Esther Thompson

Esther leads the network development and Quality Standards at One Small Thing. She is a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and learning and development specialist.

Esther started her career working with people leaving prison, before moving into youth work, volunteer recruitment and training. She was Head of Training at London Youth, the membership organisation for youth clubs throughout London, running youth work qualifications and leadership development.

Most recently, Esther was Head of Learning and Events at the Association of Charitable Foundations, developing networks and learning opportunities for trusts and foundations, working in London and across Europe.


Rose Mahon

Rose has worked in the charitable sector for over 20 years and for many years at a senior level. She is a passionate advocate for trauma informed and trauma responsive approaches within services. She has designed, developed and delivered services to women caught up in the justice system and women who experience multiple disadvantages.


jolene young

Jolene has worked in the support sector for over 25 years, at all levels from operational frontline through to senior management.

She has extensive experience of working with people involved in the justice system in community, residential and prison settings.
