Update on Hope Street

Jane Smith, Community Director for Hope Street

In September the One Small Thing team visited the Hope Street site in Southampton to see the build first hand and meet with the architects to hear more about how trauma-informed design principles have informed the plans for the hub and gardens. The foundation for the residential building is laid and soon scaffolding will go up so the cross-laminated timber building can be erected. The refurbishment of our first supported house for the Hope Street community is now underway and will be ready for our first residents in January 2022. The Hope Street team has a new office base, including spaces where we can start to provide our first women’s groups as part of our Hampshire Probation work with Advance.
