Hope Street wins an architecture award!

We are so delighted that Hope Street, which was designed by Snug Architects working alongside our team and women with lived experience has won the RIBA 2024 MacEwen Award which celebrates ‘architecture for the common good’. The Award was launched in 2016 to discover and celebrate architecture with a greater purpose, and recognises projects that address the pressing social, economic, and environmental issues of our time, such as inclusion, sustainability, community building, and poverty alleviation.

What did the judges say about Hope Street?

“It is transformative. It is a bold move on behalf of the organisations involved in the justice system.

MacEwen judge Isabelle Priest

“Hope Street is the only project that almost had me crying… we hear of the architect as being a doctor of space and this is an example of architecture that is healing people."

MacEwen judge Alex Scott-Whitby
